Grand Junction, Colorado: Karen L. Probert, MS, RD, a project grant planning and implementation consultant from Paonia, Colorado, was named Project Management Consultant for HCAC's West Slope Forum Telehealth Project. The announcement was made by Jill Elliott, Director of Rocky Mountain Health Plans Home Health and Vice President of HCAC, who was serving as selection committee chair of the HCAC Telehealth Project Steering Committee.

The project is to focus on initiating a telehealth  approach to chronic heart failure (CHF). Working with a group of Grand Junction cardiologists, West Slope home care agencies will participate in forming a health care cooperative, initiating telehealth systems, evaluating the effectiveness of those systems and exploring other disease states that can be managed by similar methods. It is the objective of the project to provide data aimed at influencing third-party payers to reimburse for telehealth services as a cost effective method of treatment.
