Colorado Home Care Delegation
Marches on D.C.

Activists representing HCAC converged on the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to gain congressional and senate support of two key bills:

* Recognizing Telehomecare Interactions - The Fostering Independence Through Technology Act (H.R.3030 and S.457)

* Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Midwife to Certify Home Care Orders - The Home Health Care Planning Improvement Act (H.R. 4993 & S.2814)

At right are Sue Brown, Grand Junction; Donna Floyd, Montrose; Sonya Neumann, Colorado Springs; Linda Bagby, Lakewood; Yvette Tanner, Durango, and Tiffany Hill, Cortez. Taking the photo was Ellen Caruso.

Congresswoman Betsy Markey, CO-4, holds newly passed Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (health care reform bill) as Ellen Caruso, Sue Brown, Yvette Tanner and Tiffany Hill ask her support of home care initiatives.

Congressman Mike Coffman (CO-6) listened intently to Colorado home care constituents and later signed on to H.R. 4993 which will allow physician assistants, nurse practitioners and nurse midwives to sign home care orders. Congressman Ed Perlmutter (CO-7) also signed on to the legislation.
