Sonya Neumann Assumes HCAC Presidency
Sonya Neumann, Physicians Home Health Care, Colorado Springs, was named HCAC president at the annual meeting of the HCAC membership in Vail. She succeeds Sue Brown (photo-right), Home Care of the Grand Valley, Grand Junction, who remains on the HCAC board of directors as Immediate Past President. Neumann has served on the HCAC board since May 2003, when she immediately became an active member of the home care legislative / advocacy council. Her involvement with legislative affairs led her to participate in the past four NAHC National Policy Conferences and NAHC's "March on Congress" in Washington, D.C. (from 2003 through 2007). She has maintained a high level of involvement in State Legislative Affairs, having participated annually in the annual HCAC Legislative Breakfast on Capital Hill in Denver. She has also prepared and presented testimony for state legislative hearings and has been involved in the Quality and Excellence Special Project. Others elected to the HCAC board of directors were: Theresa McCoy, Clinical Coordinator, Life Care at Home, Aurora; Eric Riewerts, Executive Director, Salus Homecare, Denver; Melody Wright, State Director, Centura Health at Home, Denver; David Johnson, CFO, Argus of Colorado Home Health, Pueblo; and Donna Floyd, Director of Home Health Services, Interim HealthCare of Western Colorado, Grand Junction. Elected to the association's Nominating Committee were: Sue Birch, Executive Director, Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurses Association, Steamboat Springs, chairman; Cathy Kaufman, CEO, Founding Partner, Complete Home Health Care, Longmont, Diana Prime, Owner, Primary Home Health Care, Colorado Springs, and Theresa McCoy.
