An Overview...

“New Codes, Changed Codes and New Interpretations”
October 1st begins a new coding year! Ensure your agency doesn't make costly coding errors by using outdated codes on claims. There are new codes and changed codes affecting leukemia, pressure ulcers, thromboses and emboli, fractures and more. Find out how these codes affect billing beginning October 1st. Some may be case mix diagnoses and some may impact your payment and plan of care in other ways. Don't quite understand the impact of Attachment D? We'll discuss that too! Plus a special bonus - a sneak preview of the changes to coding with OASIS C!

At the conclusion of this audio-conference, the participant will be able to:

Explain why codes are changed each year effective October 1;
Explain the impact on billing RAPs and final claims;
Identify changed and new codes that may impact home health care plans of care;
Identify new case mix codes;
Explain pertinent changes made to coding by
Attachment D;
Explain proposed changes to coding in OASIS C.

“Let's See What OASIS C Is All About”
This is the first major revision to OASIS since its inception in 1999. Changes in 2002 and 2008 do not compare with these planned changes! The changes include an explanation of the new items, including renumbering of current items and CMS's objectives. CMS’s goal is self-explanatory descriptions which will reduce the number of questions regarding interpretations. Best practices learned through the outcome projects have been incorporated which will improve your care plans and clinical practices. Not just a review of the proposed changes, but also innovative ideas on readying your clinicians now for the changes.

At the conclusion of this audio-conference, the participant will be able to:

Explain the timeline for implementation;
Identify changed OASIS data items and implications;
Identify new OASIS data items and implications;
Explain possible process changes needed for implementation of
OASIS C.

 


This is how it works...     

Complete the Registration Form for your agency. Registered locations will be sent an e-mail confirmation the Tuesday prior to the scheduled date of the audio-conference with dialing information and a web link to download handout materials and/or resources.

Join the call by dialing the toll-free number and giving the passcode number. Gather your staff and listen via speakerphone to the presentation, follow along with the handouts and participate in live, interactive Q&A.


PLEASE NOTE:
Registration fees are based on each dial-in connection; multiple call-ins from your agency will be charged. We are unable to accommodate more than one agency per call-in. 


You must contact us by the session deadline date if you have special needs or require additional assistance or accommodation to participate in this audio conference.

Certificates of attendance will be mailed after evaluations are received.
